Overheating 94 Exp.
My dad's '94 Exp 4.0 V-6 keeps overheating on long trips. When he goes up inclines it doesn't take much and he has to turn off the A/C and ease up on the gas. The thermostat has been replaced and he had the radiator flushed and "rodded" awhile ago. Still heats up. Do explorers have a natural tendency to heat up?? I don't have much exp with explorers, i'm a bronco man. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure what the staus of the fan clutch is (how old) I'll have to talk to the old man and find out. I know the coolant level is kept up, he's a little too religious about such things.
Does anyone have any suggestions/experiance on installing an electrical fan on the radiator??

A lot those older models had fan clutch failure so it wouldnt surprize me at all. And a lot of them upon inspection will have numerous cracks on the fan itself.
Im sure you can find an electric supplemental fan at the parts store. Just be sure you know what you are doing wiring it in.
