I have a 2003 Excursion with a 7.3 and 240,000 miles. I have oil leaking around the transmission and the local diesel shop found the pedestal leaking. I installed a new pedestal from Rotomaster Part # A1382205N. It came with new O-rings and turbo bolts. I ran the truck and it began leaking again. Thinking I had pinched an O-ring I pulled it apart again but found nothing. I cleaned and inspected everything and reinstalled. Its still leaking. I used a straight edge to ensure the sealing surfaces were straight.
what he said. There are lots of places for leaks on the 7.3 and sometimes the only way to pinpoint one is to clean everything spotless. Rags, brake cleaner, long screwdrivers and lots of time, you'll get it clean. Maybe the turbo is dripping, mine did that, had to replace it. You did replace both upper and lower orings right?
Yes upper and lower orings were replaced along with the turbo bolts. It's leaking from the back of the pedestal. There is no oil on the turbo or pedestal.
Going to run it this morning and then remove the turbo and stick my head back there. Hope I can see what's going on.
I installed an aftermarket pedestal with the EBPV delete along with a new exhaust adapter. What I found was the plug on the back was not sealing. It appears the threads on the adapter were not cut correct and the plug is a little mauled. I ordered a new one from rockauto.com. I will inspect it really good before I install it. I will post the outcome.

what plug? sorry just having a hard time picturing this plug you speak of?
On the oil supply side of the pedestal to turbo there is a drilled passage with a plug. It's a straight thread allan head plug. I will get a picture of the OEM and new one and post it tomorrow.
Installed new pedestal and I'm glad to say no leaks.
I have a check engine light from the EBPV. Does anyone know who sales a plug to fool the ECM that the pedestal is still operating?
