The other day i noticed that when i went to disengage my truck alarm via the fob that it wasnt working and I had to press the button close to the vehicle a bunch of times to get it to unlock. I figured it was the battery so I switched over and grabbed my other fob and it seemed to work better but not as good as it should. i chalked this up to the other key pad having a low battery as well. Well i went ahead and replaced both alarm keypad batteries and I have the same issues now but it seems to be getting worse. Yesterday i couldnt even get the alarm to shutoff and had to use the on-door keypad. Any clues on what this could be?

Welcome to the site, jasonphoto01; sounds like you have an "alarming" concern on your hands. Do you have an aftermarket alarm or are you referring to the anti-theft alarm that came with the truck? How many miles are on the truck currently? I'll investigate options to help.

This is the alarm that came with the truck. It also has remote start if that matters. I currently have 60,000+ miles on her.

Thanks for the quick reply, jasonphoto01! I recommend going ahead and making an appointment at your dealership. Once you've received a diagnosis, I'll be able to escalate this to your regional customer service manager, if needed. Keep me in the loop!
I tried taking out the batteries and lifting the connections to ensure a good connection.
I tried taking negative battery cable off truck engine for 30 minutes.
I tried resetting both Fobs which worked in resetting but didnt fix the issue.
I tried removing battery in one remote and resetting the other and that didnt work.
Just a follow up for anyone who may come across this in the future. I brought it in and they said it was a faulty rubber gasket in BOTH key FOBS. Evidently this is a common problem and a new updated gasket was available. The total for new updated gaskets in both FOBS and installed was $61.18. To test if this may be the issue you can take your alarm apart and then push down on the battery and try and see if the pressure from your finger on the battery restores all functions. If it does then the gasket is your problem. I'm also attaching service receipt for reference.
Thanks for following up. I did notice that after taking the key apart and cleaning the gasket that it did seem to work better. I wonder if this is considered a "warranty repair"...

Hi Robbgt,
You can give your dealership's service manager a call to see if this would be covered. What's the current mileage on your truck?
Thanks for reaching out. Truck has 27k. Is there a TSB or something associated with the problem that I can refer to when calling?
Hey, Robb!
I don't have access to TSBs, but your service manager will be able to run your VIN to see if any would apply. Let me know how your appointment goes; I'll be able to jump in and help once you've had a tech take a look.
