**Stuck in 4L**
I have a 1990 Ranger, i put it in 4L the other day and now it wont come out. The lights on the dash and by the steering column just flash. When I press the button the lights go out for a second but just come back on. I dont know what to do.

The transfer case motor is probably dead. Read this link, it will tell how to get it back into 2H.

Not trying to be a smartass or anything...but do you put the transmisson in neutral when you try? If so, then get under the truck and clean the connectors, also try backing up a few feet to get the bind off the drivetrain.

It turns out that it wasnt anything in the transfer case, there was a blown fuse. I took it to my friends house and his dad figured it out. We had it up on four jack stands but it didnt do anything. So, now its fixed. Thanks for your help guys!
