Wife has an 04 Expedition and I'm tired of the junk moog sway bar links that only go a week then start clunking. I see from 11/04 and up has a regular straight link but still has a ball at the bottom. Has anyone used old style "bolt" link ends with 4 bushings like they used to? Is there anyway to get rid of the ball link ends permanently? Thanks.
Nothing?! Nobody?! I find it hard to believe I'm the only guy on the planet that is having trouble with aftermarket sway bar links. Even the new motorcraft links aren't the same as the ones that came on it but yet no one else is having any trouble? I find that very hard to believe.
Really taking a stab in the dark here, but the old ford pre-78 one ton 2wds used a short sway bar link in the front that was similar to what I think you are looking for. A bolt style maybe 8" long, uses 2 rubber isolator washers on the threaded vertical part, then the other end was an eye that held a shock absorber style rubber isolator and used a shoulered bolt to attach that to the chassis. So the attaching points are vertical and horizontal on the truck. I may be able to get dimensions as I know where my old 77 F350 resides.
