Alright for my van the bolt pattern is:
AEROSTAR RIMS== 14x6, 5X144.3, 1/2-RH,
M = Medium Offset or RWD Typically +20 offset
I need to know what other car's rims will fit this to make it easier on me to find rims for my van... thank you
Similar year model Rangers share the same bolt pattern and so probably does the Explorer. I don't think the Explorer ever had 14 inch wheels, so you're pretty much stuck with the Ranger if you want 14 inch wheels. I have heard that Dodge Dakotas have the same pattern, but I'm not sure the offset is the same. Hollander Interchange will tell you what wheels from the Ranger are the same part number as those used on Aerostars. But, what it doesn't tell you is if wheels with different part numbers will fit. I would assume (but don't know for sure) that similar year model Ranger and Explorer 15 inch wheels have the same offset as the Aerostar.
The best and safest bet is to get your hands on a Hollander Interchange, which you can find at some libraries in the reference section. However, the only wheels that the Aerostar and Ranger shared were steel. So if you want to put aluminum Ranger wheels on, you might have to infer what would fit. For example, if steel wheel A came on the Aerostar and Ranger, then aluminum wheel B, which only came on the Ranger but is the same size (i.e., 14 X 6), should fit the Aerostar.
1994-up 5 lug mustangs, but watch out for clearance on the front center cap, as some of the wheels have a shallow depth area under the center cap, and the rotor dust cover stickes out. I have seen 15" (had them on my van temporarily, fit absolutely great, and fit better than the aftermarket turds on there now), 16", and 17" GT and cobra wheels on Aerostars here.....all fit great concerning backspacing....
what do you think that the largest size wheel i can go is before the wheel rubs the wheelwell without a mort proper suspension? ie 15" 16" 17" etc... with the same tires that come stock on those rims... like the tire size that should be on those rims for the truck/car it comes with...
Well, you can always go with steel wheels, cheap, and there are many that would fit the Aerostar.
I'm rather fond of the newer Jeep ones, late 90s Grand Cherokee wheels that look like cheap BBS knockoffs, but they're only 16x7, and that limits the tire size I could run.
Would the bolt pattern be the same for the RWD fullsizes (Crown Vic, Lincolns, etc)? I have compared my marquis wagon to my friend's 93 Aerostar panel, & the pattern looks the same.
Surprisingly, both call for 215/75R14 tires (though the wagon has 225/75R14's that still look dinky).
