1969 Rio Grande with 500 body style?

1969 Rio Grande with 500 body style?

Is there such a thing of a Rio Grande with a 500 (47) body style? Or did all Rio Grande's come with the GT (48) body style?

I am close to purchasing one and the door tag matches the vin, no color code and says special performance vehicle (all rio grande signs); but noticed the vin had a 47 body style code. Was not sure if that was an option for a Rio Grande.

It has an H code engine as well. I have seen some M codes on rio grande vins for the higher HP 351 - again not sure if there was a standard configuration for the Rio Grande or you could mix and match everything.

According to wiki, it was just a paint and minor trim option on the GT. Only 900 done. Never heard of one, and I used to think I had my ear to the rail on vehicles like that in the day, as I turned 16 in '69.
