Connector on Diff

Connector on Diff
Hi, I recently purchased a 2000 F250 PSD, I notice that there is a electrical connector on the rear diff housing. Can anybody tell me what it's for? I'm guessing it's for the ABS.
The housing it's self is much bigger than the Front Diff, again, can anybody tell me why?

Connector on Diff
The rear diff has a tone ring in it. It is for the speedo and abs. The rear is bigger than the front because it sees more use. Almost all 4x4's are like this. You have a Visteon 10.5 inch ring gear rear diff. The front is a Dana 50 with a 8.5 inch ring gear. It is in the same housing (cosmetically) as the Dana 60 which is still smaller than the rear at 9.75 inch ring gear.
