i just bought a harness adapter to install my Aftermarket radio. makes it much easier.
Does this harness have connectors to directly plug into the back of the receiver AND to plug directly into the main wiring harness of the truck or, does this harness only plug into the back of the receiver and you have to cut/splice into the main wiring harness of the truck to connect the other end of it?
I bought the harness of eBay. it was 2 plug from the truck to my one plug to the aftermarket radio. But after connecting the 2 plugs, nothing was left to actually connect the wires by colors. ( From the 2 plugs to the radio harness )
Originally, I was gonna start splicing wires but noticing the color code was different then the Aftermarkets radio harness.
Theres no need to cut no wires. The plugs saved me from that.
I have a Sony DIN receiver in the dash in my '69. It came with the connector that plugs into the back of the unit but the wires at the other end were just loose (no connector at that end).
I took some wire, butt splices, male and female bullet terminals, heat shrink, solder and a soldering iron and ran the wires from the loose ends of the wires coming from the receiver and plugged the bullet terminals directly into existing connectors on the factory wiring harness, without cutting or splicing any of the original wiring in my truck.
