I have been talking to the guys at XDP about a TS 6 pos. mod chip for my 7.3. but they need the Cach # off the computer to program the chip. I have given them all the numbers off the side and gone to my ford dealer and can not find the number they want? They tell me it should be 3 letters and 1 # any help would be great.

It should be on the computer, must have been rubbed of? Not sure what you meant by "I have given them all the numbers off the side"? Side of what?

 

Did you look on the BACK of the PCM, accessible by removing the fasteners for the parking brake pedal/release assembly and pulling it away from the sidewall of the cab?

 

My numbers were on the engine side where the harness connector is. Pretty sure I Had to use a mirror to read it. Mine said BEG8

 

Sorry on the side of the computer
It is inside the engine compartment on the fender.
I didn't unbolt it to see if there are numbers on the back.
should I ?

The XXXn code should be in both locations. Less likely to be worn off on the interior location.

 

Not trying to be a *****, but are you sure you are looking at the pcm? The idm is on the inner fender, the pcm is in the firewall..
