Are you wanting to swap axles or just the differential?

That's much better! I was figuring outrageous shipping costs or fuel prices to try and swap ya the whole axle lol.
Lemme do some figuring an Ill let you know today
And just to be 100% positive: you have a 3.73LS from a 10.25 and your wanting to swap for a 3.73 non-LS from a 10.25?

He is putting in lower gears so it doesn't matter what gear ratio the open diff has, although it will most likely end up being 3.73. It will be cheaper to ship without the heavy ring gear on it anyway.

I will more than likely be coming to pick it up myself anyways. It ought to be cheaper than trying to ship two heavy chunks

Could you get me the size and weight of that carrier? I may just ship it. I guessed the size and weight and I'll save a little by shipping

When I get home I'll scale it out and measure it and let you know.
It'll be easiest to swap carriers with side bearings. I'd send everything in the pic I posted minus the ring gear bolts.
Mine has newer bearings, idk how may miles, but they are not factory anymore.

Ok excellent.
Do you need my bearings out of mine or will you be putting newer ones in?

It's out of a 86. But 10.25 and 10.5 use the same carriers, my Ex has the same carrier in it. It has the tone ring n all that.

It's amazing that those rear ends haven't changed from at least back to the fifties (except for the tone ring).

Ya funny, being the 10.25 was first used in a Ford pickup in1985. Had a tone ring from day 1 if I remember right.
