So everything is good with the motor so no worries. Jumped on it today and had a weird feel to it. It was like the turbo spooled up and tranny down shiffted at the same time--almost like it floated. Sucker took off like a rocket but I've not had it do that before. I actually let out of it for a second as I thought something was wrong lol.
Roger that!! It's been awhile since I've driven something that took this long to "feel" everything. This thing gives me something new all the time--and not in a bad way but good--closest I can compare it to is my dirt track cars.
Mine does that occasionally. It's a combination of what you mentioned. The turbo spools and the boost comes on hard and then the down shift. Engine realizes that it's past the shift point after that all happens and then just seems to sit there, RPM up and then BAM... it finds the gear it wants.
The truck will protect itself from an over Rev condition... I've seen mine close to 4500. Did it today in the rain, stepped down hard to pass. Road was wet, heavy rain and couldn't hear anything, looked down and I'm at 4000+ .... it down shifted, the boost hit hard and I'm sure the tires were screaming.
Driving slow isn't my style and a little rain makes everybody seem like they are in the way... there driving slow gives me road rage.

Yep--that's exactly what it did. I really used to like the speed more but with age I've mellowed somewhat. Of course even if I don't use it it's nice knowing it's there when you want it. I'm one of those if its 300hp standard then 600hp is better
