Lining up timing marks with cover installed?

Lining up timing marks with cover installed?
One is it possible and two if so how I royally f'ed up and put on the timing cover first and the harmonic balancer I have the heads off still number one is close to tdc but it turned a little when I tightened the HB any any to get the marks lined up with out removing it all rookie mistake lol
