E4OD Transmission Fluid
I hope you guys/gals can help me out...
I added a transmission oil cooler to my '96 F250, 460. I took the radiator cooler out of the cooling loop and I'm running the factory transmission cooler in series with a new Hayden cooler. He's my problem...
Knowing that I was going to loose some fluid in the process, I purchased additional fliud at AutoZone. The saleman sold me Mercon V!!!!
I finished the installation and added approx. 8-9oz of Mercon V. I find now, that MerconV is not to be used in an E4OD... Do you think I've messed up something?
Should I have the transmission serviced and the fluid changed?

GET IT OUT NOW! I have read a lot of post completly warning not to use any mercon V. You should have checked with the dealer or your manual. I am pretty sure you should drain it as the E40D is expensive. Just spend the money for a new Mercon only rating. No dual rating fluid either (I.E mercon V and Mercon...) Just plain mercon.
