2 years ago i had my water pump replaced and never got the special rad additive for my psd from ford..should i be useing it still?..i got the 50/50 antifreeze in there now for the diesel..
thanks!
Yes you should. It stops you engine from possibly rotting away.
You should drain the coolant and run fleet guard coolant with distilled water.
There is Napakool from Napa Auto Parts, Ford P/N FW-15 or FW-16, and Fleetguard P/N DCA4 that takes care of the coolant additive requirement for our diesels. I'm sure there are more, those are the ones I am aware of.

Fleetguard is a brand of SCA, it's NOT an anti-freeze. Fleet CHARGE, made by Peak (well, the mfr was BOUGHT by Peak), is anti-freeze pre-charged with SCA.
(And to the OP, it's to save your engine, NOT your radiator.)
Is the Fleet Charge stuff pre-diluted? Or is it full strength?
You can get it both ways. And yeah, good that you asked, because the labels are ALMOST exactly the same. You have to look CLOSE at the label to make sure you're not buying half overpriced water.
Ok, just making sure. I finally found out that O'Reilly is an authorized vendor for the stuff, and I have 3 gallons of it but couldn't find anywhere on it that said full strength or pre-diluted.
can I add RAD to my existing coolant?? I did the same thing replaced my water pump and didnt put any RAD in because I didnt know I had to.
Yes you can add SCAs to your radiator.
If you have a NAPA store near by, you can get a 1/2 gallon jug of NAPACOOL and add some to your existing coolant.
