Engine Paint Suppliers/Brands
I have searched the site and have found very little about who makes a decent engine paint. Lots of stuff about color, but not much about supplier/brand.
I have spray equipment, so I don't need rattle cans.
So where do I buy a qt. of dark red engine paint? What brands are good and which are garbage?

I painted my 272 over the weekend with Eastwood's engine paint and activator. It hardens like a rock and was even harder after getting cured with a warm engine. Nice bright color too. Take a look: http://www.eastwood.com/engine-paint-kit-26971.html

Aervoe engine enamel is the best Engine Enamel :: Paints and Coatings :: Industrial, Maintenance, and Construction Chemical Products :: Aervoe Industries Inc.. It is not a common name for most DIYers because it is a commercial product used by professional engine builders. I have been using it for so long I actually forgot where I heard about it but after seeing it on the shelf of two very reputable engine builders I knew that it must be good. This paint sprays on smooth and dries to a high sheen. Colors include both Ford blues and many others. You usually have to buy it in a case of 6 but lately I have been seeing it sold individually.

I use aervoe rattle cans also, buy it online because more available colors and the search is gone, very hard to find in the stores don't know why. You would be hard pressed to tell the difference from a spray set up application. I have used this on the exhaust and engines with lasting success. My blown Hemi has the black and that motor reaches a temp of 200 constant, no sign of discoloration. I f you need to touch up or anything just grab the can and go

I too will vote for the Eastwood Engine Paint. I just painted my 51 Flathead the "Flathead Red" which looks amazing. I sprayed the 2K paint and thinned it about 15% with a generic thinner. It has an amazing shine and seems pretty hard. I haven't run the engine yet, so I can't say whether it cures any more with the engine heat.
I will also add that I had to touch up a few areas with a brush because I had already started hanging the engine components, and that looks great too.

Not to hijack a thread, but Aervoe makes an engine paint?? Is it in a rattle can? Is it a 2K paint? The Aervoe plant is just down the road from my house and I had no idea. We used to buy their "tree marking paint" by the pallet load in the mining industry. Who would have thought that tree marking paint shows up so well on rocks.
