Hi Everyone, Started working on 79 f-150 again after 3 years . It has new shocks , new front coil springs, new leaf springs and shackles. For some reason the truck leans to the drivers side 3/4 of an inch measured at the rails both front and back. axels are equal distance off of floor. Is this something that is common and will straighten out once I begin driving it. Could the coils be different lengths ? Can one be stretched so they are the same length? Basically how do I get the truck to sit level? Thanks for any help Ted
Has the truck ever been in an accident? Anything bent in the suspension? Maybe one of the new coils springs is not installed correctly? Is it rotated and end of the coil is seated in the cup correctly? Maybe once the truck is driven it will level out?
I wouldn't worry too much about it until you have driven it for a few miles.. As long as everything is installed correctly I say the suspension will settle
The truck has never been in an accident.72000 miles . It has only been driven 8 miles after all new parts were installed. hope it is an easy fix. thanks for your reply
One way to check would be to swap front springs and rear leafs left to right. One end at a time. If it does not level out with some use, that is what I would suggest to narrow it down.
