Hey Fellas,
Monday morning driving to work over the Mississippi bridge a tracktor trailer side swiped me! I was cruising in the right lane and the tractor trailer was in the left lane. The tractor trailer began to change lanes and just came over on me. I swerved a little to the right to avoid being hit and I hit a lip on the bridge that blew out the right front tire at 65mph! Then the right rear of the trailer swiped the left side of my truck. The driver kept going after he hit me! I punched it with a blown tire and chased that SOB down and made him stop. $6500 in damage.
The point to my story is simply that my 2013 Ford F150 was stable and saved my life even with a blown tire. I love that truck.
I'm glad you are ok. Now the "SOB" that run away might not have seen you or even feel that his trailer impacting your truck , maybe you were on his blind spot. I drive semi's part time. None the less sorry about the accident and I'm glad the truck performed to speciations.
Sorry to hear you got hit by an inattentive trucker (probably texting). The driver should be in complete control of his/her vehicle at all times. Sounds like a hit and run on a commercial license. Not good! I sure hope he is insured.

if he was distracted or not thats not for you or I to speculate or determine the details of the accident. I'm sure the authorities were notified and they made that determination.
what really matters here is that no body got hurt, and the truck performed to the OP expectations.
No matter the situation, the truck did it's job for you. As much as we get attached to our big boy toys and hate to see them get torn up, they are just a machine.
So glad that you're in great shape and hopefully your baby can be restored to new condition.
Wow, I'm glad you made it out and were not squished by a semi! I'm glad to hear you were able to chase him down even on a flat tire. Pretty impressive!
Hey Fellas,
Thanks for the nice comments. My accident could have been allot worse. The truck performed well.
When the tractor trailor driver got out of the truck, he seemed a little 'out of it'. Wonder if he had been driving all night? Not sure if he got a ticket.
On a lighter note... I told my Wife, If I had gone over the edge of the bridge into the river, she would have it ALL!
She would be a 'rich' widow with all the sympathy in the world to real in a new younger husband!
Hey Fellas,
Got my truck back yesterday from the repair shop. All fixed up and ready to go. Looks good. The owner of the repair shop is a personal friend of mine. He told me it took longer to repair since they were waiting to receive genuine Ford parts. About $8500 total repair cost. I guess I'll never really know for sure.
Keep in mind that my rental car was a 2015 Toyota Camry that I had to drive for five weeks. I sure missed my truck. The truck runs and drives the same as it did before the accident. I'll drive it for a few weeks and hope for the best.
