This is my first post in this forum, as I recently sold my '67 F-250 and bought a '97 F-150 Shortbed.
I have a couple of questions for ya. First of all, when my AC is on, my heat shields under my truck rattle enough that it like to drive me crazy, is this a normal occurance with these trucks?
Secondly, I have the 4.2L V-6. It runs great except early in the mornings when she's still cold, it acts kinda doggish when accelerating and shifting.
If it is loose cat heat shields your local Ford dealer sells realllly big hose clamps to put around them to stop the buzz. Also make sure there arent little rocks in the shields.
Hey thanks, I'll check that rock idea out. I have played with them before and can't get them to rattle by shaking them, while I'm laying under the truck.
I've seen a few 4.2's that seemed to need to warm up a bit before they ran smoothly.
Any idea if it's ever had a tune up? New fuel filter? MAF cleaned?
