Hey, I just installed a gauge from Glow shift and my fuel pressure is 55 idling. between 52 and 54 just normal driving and 49 WOT. I did the blue spring a couple weeks ago and new motor craft filters at the same time. Are these normal pressures or is something wrong?
Marketeers are selling Motorcraft products through Amazon, but your right I'm not noticed any Ford dealers selling, but haven't looked much. That being said, the question of was it in a Motorcraft or International package was not answered. More likely if shipped by Amazon it was, but still an open question.
Sorry about being a PITA to make sure it was Motorcraft.
No problem I understand your just making sure. On my way home today I did see a 48 psi flash when going wot. I suppose I could put the stock spring back in and see if there is a change. Would an hfcm cause the lower pressure?
The very first thing we would do in any test was to check gauge or transducer calibration. It's a pita like me, but I think that is where you have to start. Even if that means installing a mechanical gauge with hose or tubing to recheck the motor, or setting up a collection of fittings so you can put a guage along with this sensor onto an air line and check the two.
The alternative is flipping springs, again without knowing the gauge calibration what does that get you, or flipping HFCM. Both take time and expense and you only be checking against your unknown gauge. What if they all show the same reading ..... Damn guage comment will be coming.
Some smarta** will probably post well how do you know the second gauge is right? It's a slippery slope.

Yes a failing pump in the HFCM can cause low system pressure. Are you running tuned? That also puts extra demand on the pump. When you did your blue spring did you require the black bushing that comes in the kit? And if so did you make sure to install the oring that goes between the black bushing and the fuel filter housing?
