lug stud length handle new wheels?
Will 2000 SVT alloys fit the lug studs on a 97 F150 (12mm I believe)?
Do I need to put 14mm studs in to handle the 2000 SVT wheels?
Thanks,
Bill

Hi billa and welcome to FTE! I would change them over myself. 2mm extra shouldn't be too much of a problem. Before you make the switch though, I would ask the person that you are getting them from to measure theirs, or call a dealership for the proper length. With the ends of the nuts, have caps that pop off. Some have actual caps, some are very thin walled at the end and break off. Changing studs can be a chore. If you don't have the proper equipment, you may want to farm it out. Good luck and we'll talk with you later....

Hey Bill! It depends on the type of lugs you want or have to use. Some are open ended and some are closed.
Some look like regular nuts, but have threaded barrels and capped at the end.
Some, like the above, use washers.
There are just enough on the market to make it confusing!!
You can get at FORDs web-site and possibly look it up in the SVT section. A good bet there. You may as well pick out some wheel locks while you're at it. No sense loosing the wheels to thiefs!!
