Have a 2003 F550 got a year ago and Interstate battery's were constantly going completely dead after sitting about a week. Checked amp draw at cable from batter to fusebox and had a constant 2 amp draw pulled fuses one at a time and checked no change bought new AGM INTERSTATE battery's and same thing. So I installed a BATTERY DOCTOR auto disconnect at 12V working fine (no dead battery's just have to reset ) Talked to a man with 2006 F350 and he said he had same problem and knew another man with same problem so is just us or do more trucks have this going on any input will be apricated.THANKS for listening.out for now.
As I sat here and thought it over again I came to the box under the hood and glowplug relay did not check will do that . this truck had so much stuff unhooked (Mars remote start ,electric trailer brakes, base crossover and looked like spaghetti under the dash) removed a box of stuff hoping that was it.will do the logical progression thing under the hood .THANKS for your thoughts.
That's what interstate batteries do! I bought them for quads and trucks because I liked the cool white/green color. They were always going dead and I could never get warranty as they always told me they were fine. I went back to ford batteries and they don't go dead.
I am sure you didn't do this but I will say it anyway...if you have a door or hood open while testing it will give you a drain from the dome/hood light.
Got the combination deep cycle/start battery's for the reason of 4 year free replacement no pro rate .while I was checking fuses had hood light out of socket and key off ,door shut .A lot of walkin back and fourth and up and down step ladder .got 8" lift and 24.5 rims tires are 43 ". I am 6 foot with boots on and can walk under factory mirrors. Will go under hood in a day or so .THANKS for input.
Been reading related threads in Expedion and 6.0 forms. Lots of info .did not know about the time to let it (sleep) .Watched video by Eric the car guy .should use neg battery and disable interior light switches did not do that will when I get at it Monday hope to tell you about my success then .out for now
I once had the same problem on my 08' and it ended up being the OEM radio----I pulled both fuses to the radio and the problem went away. There was a CD stuck in the radio, and it couldn't eject. Replace the radio with an aftermarket, and have never had any more battery drain problems.
Found it !! Had issue with 3 fuses ( body security, instrument cluster, heated seats). Pulled one by one and let sit .the one that drained was HEATED SEATS 30 amp .Left it out .Never used em so left it out .Thanks for all input .out for now!
