I've always liked the idea of the two series of trucks having more in common while giving each their own identity.

Cutting as much as 1000 lbs of weight is significant. I'm excited.

Having 2 separate cabs made sense when the wanted to down size the F150. Each version of the F150 since has grown back to the new SD size cab. I was fine with my 94 F Superduty cab being the same as an F150's. It doesn't make much sense to build a smaller F150 cab, when one for both series will work. Ford just needs a Ranger type small truck option (not the new Larger Ranger sold elsewhere) now to complete the lineup. The 1,000 pound weight savings is huge. The new trucks will be much more efficient, handle and perform better. Win, Win, Win!

470 hp and 900 lb/ft torque? Hard to keep tires on the one I have now with only 440/860. My first diesel was an '82 GMC 6.2 with about 135 hp/250 tq.

All New Truck Again in 2019?

In the "take it for what it's worth" column...

Four years ago, while hoping and waiting for a redesigned body in 2015, I had a conversation on a competing forum about Fords reluctance to change up the old sheet metal.

This person told me that he worked on the interior design team. He told that the original redesign was to be released in 2016MY, but was being pushed back to 2017. He also told me that a total and complete new truck was on the design table to meet the coming CAFE standards, and would be introduced in 2019.

I know, yada, yada.
Could be written off as a guy who knows a guy, and who am I..
But this person who I don't know and never met was 100% accurate on what was coming, and that 2019 was the year for a 100% change.
Does it make sense to redesign the body now? Aside from being stale as hell, no, but don't be surprised if the new model has a very short shelf life...

You all realize that there are a dozen Chinese/etc websites out there that just recycle old info in bad English right? They make money on the hits. The read-ups are fake. Above web page is as good as worthless. Don't be gullible.

I think a 5th grader could have wrote a better article than that. I can't believe that got out of the editor's office.

That website looks like one of the millions of rumor blogs that originate out of the Middle East or Southeast Asia. This typically means the people writing for the site have low education, are incredibly prone to falling for the ****tiest of rumors, and basically just regurgitate the most useless information to gain views.
