I kinda felt the same way with my Grand Wagoneer Superswamper, but once that first tear got into it (from a mess up with a high-lift jack - DOH!) I got over the straight-body thing pretty fast! Then again, it was 15 years old anyway - if it was a new truck with a nice body I may have still been a little upset...

Yea you get over the damage thing real quick when ya wheel alot. I bashed my original doors had to get new ones (used junkyard) Tryn to keep those in good shape but this run changed that. The pic of the rig between the trees.......had to use the door as a pivot point to get through Oh well, can always get more. (I usually take the doors and tailgate off when Im wheeling but was lazy)

That looks like Soooooooooo much fun! I've been shopping around for a 78-79 bronko to do up kinda like that. I wanna go cheap on the lift and just sawzall out to fit some 38.5 swampers. I'm prolly just gonna do the 2 and a half inch front coils with 6 degree c-bushings and add a leafs in the back. How is that 44 holding up to the 40's. I had 38.5's on my 79 f-150 and didn't break it but I didn't have a locker or anything else. It was just open and I had a weak clutch. LOL.

Is yours an auto or a stick? I hear the manual's are pretty rare.

RRMIKE:

I have a 6" skyjacker susp. lift and cut the rest to fit the 39.5s.

The 44 holds up well, detroit front warn shafts and ctms help.

T-18 is backing the 460 but much rather have the NP435.

I just think for mud an auto will net more tire speed. I've done well with both but seem to get more tire speed from an auto without the hassle of smoking the clutch all the time trying to get third gear

Prolly stay with the stock mill for a while too. I'd love to find one with the axles set up. It's something I know nothing about. Setting up the diffs. I'll probably shop around for one with lockers already in it or at least in the rear and maybe a LS in the front. It's so expensive to have them installed once you count the parts and labor.

I was thinking the exact same thing about the 44. Warn shafts and CTM joints. Maybe it was you I read a post from and got the idea

Maybe I will invest in a 4" but I kinda wanted to stay away from having to get all the brackets. The 2.5 is so easy and you can fit 36's or 38's with some trimming which wouldn't be a problem.
