Advice on CD player

I have a 1998 F150 - actually have an 84 as well but,,,, It came with a radio/cassette player and I got a CD/cassette/ player from a "used parts dealer" aka junkyard (love 'em). The one I got will not fit because of the bracket that the unit slides on to hold it in place is too low. Do I need a nother bracket for the slide or do I need another radio?

Advice on CD player

Is the radio itself, the correct size to fit into the dash opening?
You will need the slide on cover which helps to keep the radio snug in the dash.
Is it possible to just sand/grind down enough clearance to slide it in there ?
If its a standard DIN sized opening, you shouldnt be having any problems unless its a 1 1/2DIN radio or larger.

Yes it fits the space perfectly if the slide bracker were not there. Do I need a new bracket? The one that is in the truck is about positioned halfway down the unit - the one I want to put in is at the top. This is driving me batty
