Repairing a tailgate latch
Does anybody have any experience with fixing the latch on a tailgate for a 1999 Ford 150? The latch on my truck stopped working this weekend. I bought the truck used and when I got it the tailgate was really hard to open and it seemed like only the left side of the latch was attached to anything. I hit with some WD 40 and it worked great for a while but now it seems to not be attached at all.

Hi dowdcl and welcome to FTE 
You will probably have to remove the access panel off the inside of the tailgate and watch the linkage as you lift the handle to see what is happening. Hopefully it will be easy to tell what the problem is when you look inside.
