Weekend Fun
I drove the 30 minutes to where he was and checked out the situation. His front end was nearly under water and the rear was sitting on the rear diff in the mud. I knew it was fairly useless but hooked up the tow strap and gave it a shot.
Would not budge a bit...it was really stuck. So, we got out my jack and some wood boards and proceded to jack up the rear and slip some boards under the tires. After about a half hour we got it pretty well supported with various boards and got the rear diff about 2/3 of the way out of the mud...so I hooked up again.
This time we went with the loose tow strap and big yank technique....three pulls later he was out....
Can you guess what happened next? Of course I heard the "bet you can't make it" coming from the 3-4 peeps with him....so in I go....
Guess what...got stuck the first time...I had left my receiver in the hitch and when I tried to back out...it just drove into the mud...I opened my door and water was pouring in...but we got it pulled out pretty easy....so in I go again...a little more speed...and little more angle to miss/cross some ruts...
Water actually came over the hood....but I popped thru to the other side...
An hour at the car wash and the Bronco is fairly clean again...
It was tons of fun...
Just wanted to share....
Check ya all later.
