Ok guys this may seem like a dumb question but how the heck do you remove the top radiator hose 1994 F150, 4.9L.
Seems like an easy thing but there is a black metal band at the end of the hose going on to the thermostat housing. Is this some sort of sadistic trick by Ford to confuse folks who maintain their own vehicles?
Once off (if you guys can help) does it take a special hose from Ford or can I replace with a regular Autozone hose for this truck and use your basic hose clamp? Thanks......Van
I believe for a year or two they used some kind of retaining collar on the hoses. Just cut off the collar and use a replacement hose with a standard screw type clamp. Any good factory or aftermarket hose will do.
