cruise issue
91 F-350 7.3 diesel
evry once in a while my cruise doesn't work. Thursday i did not try it and it suddenly started holding itself at 40mph while i was trying to coast to a stop sign. when i stopped it was surging like it wanted to keep going. then it would not drive over idle. i believe it wouldn't drive over idle bc the throttle cable broke. i am getting a new cable, but some questions
1. i smell something electrical burning. i checked the 2 fuses that say speed control and they are not burnt. the smell seems to be coming from the drivers side near the engine side of the firewall. can i just disconnect the electrical connector to the cruise vacuum?
2. what else electrical would you more experienced people look at?
3. any thing i need to be careful about replacing the throttle cable?
