Bummer! When this started I expected mine on June 8th as that's my birthday and it was on the long end of when they said it would come in. But Ford surprised us and brought it in one month early. So, now my wife has to figure out what to get me for my birthday.
Maybe the same thing will happen for us. However the sales rep at our dealer originally advised 6-8 weeks BUT they (Ford) was in the process of changing one of the shipping vendors, and they expected start-up glitches.
I'm not losing sleep over it, but there must be something going on for me to check in with cotus daily.
Very nice Gary, does it even fit in the garage? It looks too tall.
Just, Brad, just. What's even closer is the width. The GLK has to be far left and fully forward to keep from having to fold the mirrors - with a button.
Gary, how wide is it? Keep in mind Darth is 8' across the rear fenders. BTW, Big Blue is the nickname for the teams from my college (at the time, now university) Old Dominion.
I'm not sure how wide it is as the owner's manual doesn't seem to say. I'll look later. But, it isn't 8', like Darth. And, part of the perceived girth is the unfamiliarity - not yet knowing where the corners are.
Also, I'm extremely happy that the ordering guru talked me out of the trailering mirrors. There would have been no chance of getting in the garage w/o folding them.

Ahh, so you guys have caught up with the Japanese tech from the 90's (folding mirrors).
Does it have good perspective of the corners from the drivers position, or do you lose it half way down the bonnet? You'll get used to it, like any new car it just takes a while.
I ask the questions so I can drive vicariously through you I'll never get one here, by the time they are shipped/converted/taxed etc. They are around $140 k (105-110 USD).
Yes, we now have some vehicles with folding mirrors. And, heretofore I've not needed them in the US. However, I well remember using them on the hire car we had in Italy several years ago. Had the mirrors not folded we would have been hitting mirrors with the parked cars - on both sides at the same time. And, two years ago almost to the day, we used them on another hire car as we drove through an archway in a road - again in Italy. And, in this case, I had my son spotting me on the right as I spotted on the left as we had but an inch either side - to the sides of the little Citroen.
But, the problem is as you said - not being able to see the corners and, as of yet, not truly knowing inherently where they are. But, the truck does have the 360 degree camera, so I do have a view to where things are. So, while it is slow going, I can snuggle it up next to my wife's car in the garage w/o hitting anything. And, with practice, that'll get faster.
I'm also still trying to figure out where the corners are. This one has a lot different look than the 2002 with the sloping hood. And the angle of the ridges on this hood and the drop in the center is a different look for me. I would say I'm still getting used to how the hood should line up with the road view.
But in three weeks I'm still under 200 miles 196. I topped off the 36 gallon tank for the first time the other day and it took 16 gallons gauge was at 1/2. But not sure just how full the dealer had the tank when I picked it up.
