C6 modulator
I was changing the transmission fluid on my F-250 with a C6. and the vacuum hose that plugs into the modulator was in my way, so i unplugged it. the bad thing was that there seemed to be a little fluid on the end of the modulator. is this bad?
the other thing i was going to ask was about ford's oil pressure sender. when i fire my truck up, the guage jumps to the high end of the normal (ie under the a). when you rev the truck up, the guage doesnt move. would that be a indication that the sender is fubar'd?
thanx.
It chould drop a little once warmed up, but if you have a high pressure or high volume pump, it might stay up there all the time.
The thing to watch for is if it changes from what it usualy does.
Not all those senders and guages (water temp or oil pressure) will be at the exact same place on all of them for normal values.
Swap two good senders, and two good guages and see the differance.
the oil pressure gauge doesn't seem to move at all after it starts.
i guess i am going to get a aftermarket oil pressure gauge.. any suggestions?
I had a 70 mustang that I installed a high volume oil pump and the sender did the same thing as yours is doing.
It kept the pressure higher than the sender/guage could read at all times, so I took a mechanical oil guage from an old Big Rig in a wrecking yard and mounted it in the grill so I could read it, but keep it out of the passenger compartment for safety reasons (boiling hot squirting oil is not good for me or my interior) and it was at 80 psi all the time!
Well, that's my 2c worth.
