I am starting to see deals on the 2015's in Southern California. Last week a dealer near me had 2015 F150 SCrew 4x4, 3.5L with a sticker of $49,040 for $39,995. 3.31 rear end and not the set up I wanted. They had 11 in stock all the same options.

If the $49040 is a legitimate "bottom line" sticker (as in the dealer didn't add the package discount back in), and doesn't include "your trade-in of $2500" or some other figure, then this is a little baffling. Why would ANY dealer advertise a price that is thousands below dealer cost, especially on a hot new model like the F-150. Can you post a link to the dealer's website?
Raceway Ford of Riverside was the dealer. The ad is no longer up. Hemborg Ford in Norco also had a couple of deals but not as good. Both are California dealers
It's an impossible number. Some places don't include destination in the sale price (though it's in the MSRP), they add $300 pin stripes and $2000 bed liners (then discount them back to actual cost). You can also pad the deal with required prep fees after the fact. Or they tack rebates together that are impossible or extremely unlikely to have all requirements met. Are you eligible for the $1000 mobility upfit program that requires you to both need mobility products, and the rebate can't exceed the price of said products, or the Edge/MDX loyalty program for $2500? No dealer anywhere is going to lose thousands of dollars on a brand new truck. No conspiracy money on the back end will make that up. Believe it or not, all this doesn't mean the dealership is sketchy. We do some advertising here that we hate to do, but because people will drive by us if we are too honest we have to play by the same games as the guy down the street does or we will go out of business. After all, you're interested in the dealership with the impossible price because it's such a better deal that the guy advertising it at the price you'll actually be able to get it at after you go in and find out the details. Customers don't trust an honest sales person much more than a dishonest one. It's frustrating for the customer, but also for a majority of sales folks who find loyalty a hard thing to earn.
I test drove my first eco boost 3.5 today loved the smooth power. It was a $58,xxx model. It was fully loaded i hated the color and I didn’t want the tow mirrors but they were not willing to come down on the price at all. This was not a big dealership at all though.
I am in no hurry to buy anything but I am on the fence between the silverado and the 150 not trying to start a debate but if I go with the 150 I will wait for the 16's for the sync 3. I am driving a paid off truck now so I am no hurry. I am having a very hard time deciding.

I think in your case waiting would be a good idea. I'm not sure what Sync 3 will have, but I hope the Nav system will come into the 21st century the current system is poor.

Until the car manufacturers get out of the fast-moving tech world (anything to do with cell phones these days), the sooner things like this will actually work. I heard a rumor that some are exploring the incorporation of Linux into car tech systems.

There are upgrades to navigation with Sync3. You'll be able to pinch and swipe the screen, and it will function more like Google Search. The map will provide more info, such as the current speed limit on the road you're traveling.
IMHO, if there is no joy stick there is no joy. Our last two vehicles have had joy sticks that let you zoom and pan by dropping your hand from the steering wheel to the stick. You don't have to look at the screen and keep your finger from bouncing. Far, far superior to the fiddly nav on the 2015 F150. And, one of those vehicles was a 2011, which will be 5 years earlier than the 2016 Sync3.
If there is one thing I've learned to dislike on my new truck, it is the Nav. I can live with the poor integration with the iPhone, but had I known about the nav I might have waited on Sync3.
