Howdy Neil. Yeah that first pic may not have been the best representation, which is why I did the second. Gotta get a good sunlight pic of it somehow and see how I like it before I make a choice.

That is the cab, Pat...lol. There never was any striping that far back the truck - this pic is right under the window on the extended cab.
I realized after the fact that the paper backing gave a false illusion, so that's the other reason for the second picture.

Tell me about it. I haven't been able to wash her in almost 2 months, due to all the damn rain. She will be getting rubbed out this summer, along with a new bug guard, that I got from the wifey for my birthday.

As soon as I finish the three in my fleet, I'll consider it.
Oooh, snap!
It takes a lot of time and effort to make black look that good. A real labor of love for me - and I don't see a lot of guys who reach my level. Either I'm doing something wrong, or they are...lol.

Bill, I have always liked the looks of a black vehicle and I have had two in the past. The one thing that I really like about black paint, is when it is so well presented that it looks like it is dripping wet like yours even though it is dry. There is no forgiveness with black paint, it shows any and all defects. You my friend should be very proud of the high level that you have achieved with your detailing skills.

That is one thing for sure - there is ZERO forgiveness on black. Takes a lot of attention and time to get it right, from the sheetmetal right up to the finished product. He showed me the pictures of what he did to get the bed right, and I was shocked. What looked good in white wasn't ready for black.
And thank you for the compliment. It comes from being willing to sit and learn and observe - sucking up information from wherever I can (YouTube, forums, other car enthusiasts, etc.) to really get a handle on the best ways to detail. Learning every day - I never quit grinding.

What's killing me right now is the bed, with that damn rust coming in over the wheel wells. I had a decsion to make with my outage money: Get a new box on Black, or get much needed parts for the 67. The future won, 67 got her parts.
