Yes, you will be pulling air from the engine compartment.
Also, be careful with K&N air filters, they don't filter as well as
the OEM paper filter, and the oil in them can contaminate your
MAF sensor......

Intake... Sound Better?
I just installed a Mac intake and let me tell ya, what a difference in throttle response and passing power. Hot air or not the amount of air that it lets in compared to the stock air box in significantly more. And right after I installed it I went on a long trip and picked up 2 mpg. I also ran one in my mustang before for years, I definatelt recommend it. And yes your motor will be louder because you can hear the air being sucked in.
