so I got sick of looking at the black door handles on the silver f-350 sticking out like a sore thumb. so i decided to paint match them and i have to say it was pretty easy! dismantle was a breeze with just a few bolts and a pin to take the handles apart.
this is before
all apart washed with soap and water and ready to prime and paint
got the paint and primer from my roomie who os a manager at the local napa
Looks much better! Did that primer do a good job of filling the texture on the handle?
It did pretty good, but i ended up having to buy a second can. I put 2 coats on and after sanding you could still see some texture in places so i put 2 more coats on and was nice and smooth after sanding.

Cool man thanks for the info cause I am going to try to paint my truck soon and I dont like the black texture on the handles either
I was wondering that too.... Had to make a stink if he did.
haha one of the joys of not being married!!
I live in an old house that is probably going to be torn down in the next few years so i used my work room to do it. each coat i opened the window wide open with a small fan to vent and cranked the room to 70 degrees for drying overnight to make sure it's good and dry/baked.
i wouldn't do it outside, too much danger of wind and dust picking up and sticking to it.
Looks way better
My King-Ranch has painted Door Handles but for some reason the Tailgate Handle is black
Yeah i was going to do the tailgate handle but am still wishy washy about whether it would look okay or not. SO if you see more pics on here on monday you will know my decision!

I painted a few things over the years in my basement workroom but still managed to stink up the house.
