Got it off the trailer today and determined it is a 360, surprise surprise lol. Going back out to go over it and see what it needs to get on the road. New tank, lines, etc are a given.
Just as a precaution after lines, tank, and brakes clean fuses and fuse box and lube zwerk fittings. Might be good to check differential oil and tranny oil too
Absolutely! I plan to upgrade to 78-79 brakes and steering anyway.
I was hoping that since it's a 360, I could just get it running and putter around all summer, but unfortunately, as I suspected, the engine looks like this inside,
Slowly but surely. I bought this to be a project truck, not as transportation, so it doesn't really matter how long it takes.
Over the course of the next few months I'll get the floors repaired, engine and trans rebuilt, 203/205 doubler installed, disc brakes on front and rear, powersteering swapped, 4.88's and Detroits installed, around 5" of lift, and 37's.
The condition of the box makes the sawzall/shingle floor worth it. Also, a buddy of mine is a yard monkey, has a 390 out of an old Mercury I can go pick up next weekend, so progress marches on
