391 FT

Can I use heads for an standard 390 on my 391, also will the intakes swap over? And where can I get an electronic distributor? I'm really wanting to use this block and rebuild the engine now, and also where can I find the block number?

Cant remember if I saw it on here or fordification that talked about the differences & what could be swapped.

Heads and intakes will swap. Look at your exhaust manifolds and where they dump compared to the FE manifolds.. Pickup manifolds would be the ones to compare as they are slightly better than the worst in the world car manifolds.

The distributor might be an issue. See post 12 and on here:

I had to use my 391 manifolds and close up the center using nickle rod... so I still have large center dump manifolds.. I posted pictures in one of my threads...I may still build stainless headers for it
