I have a timing tab that I can't find any info on. I'd like to know what Engines and cars these came on. I took this tab and cover off a C3AE with 1965 casting date. The engine was in a 1969 Ranger and had Mercury Valve covers, so it's obviously not a 69 engine. Anyone have any clues as to what applications this type of timing tab was on?
For what it's worth, in the Steve Christ book "How to Rebuild Big Block Ford Engines", on page 139, top right, there is a picture of your timing pointer installed on the engine he was rebuilding which was, I think, a '66 T-Bird 390.
I'll have to check it out. It's apparently for a larger diameter harmonic balancer. Thanks

C9OZ-6023-A .. Timing Pointer - 2 27/32" long = 1969/70 Mustang/Cougar/Fairlane/Torino 428 Super Cobra Jet.
Yes. The bends are the same as the c9oz,major difference is its mounted by 2 self tapping screws and a half round notch near the point whereas the C9OZ is bolted and screwed on with no half round notch. I have not seen any pictures or reference to the pointer that I have. I assume that it was used up to 1967 though. How many different sized harmonic balancers came on mid sixties FE cars and trucks?
