1967 f100 power steering conversion problem
I have a 1967 f100 ,352 3 speed on the column, that originally had manual steering. Ive always noticed it has play in the steering which I believe is due to the tie rod ends needing to be replaced. (Havnt gotten around to it yet.) but recently we bought a parts truck, a 1967 f250,390 auto, that had power steering. It had the bendix box and from what I read it was supposed to be a direct replacement. We took it off and put it on and it wouldn't fit. We tried adjusting the column a little to see if it would slide out some but it still wouldn't fit right. We wound up having to take the column shaft from the f250 and put it in the f100. After that everything seemed to have worked fine. It fit on it and bolted right on. We put the pump on and put some fluid in and it worked fine. But we have noticed that it has a tight spot in the middle and it's is a little stubborn to shift while the wheels are straight, but when turned it shifts fine. None of the linkages seem to be rubbing or anything. It still has play in the steering and I feel like I'm constantly having to correct it and dealing with that and the shifting being stubborn makes me really nervous when I'm driving it. I don't know what the problem is and we can't figure it out, it's almost like something is rubbing in the column. Anyone know how to fix these problems. Again I think the play in the steering could just be the tie rod ends as they do need to be replaced. Any help will be much appreciated.

Bendix P/S: 1966/68 F100/250 2WD / 1969 F100/250 2WD before serial number D96,001.
There is no "kit" all the parts have to be sourced from another truck...or NOS if available.
The steering column is different .. manual steering vs power steering. The steering shaft is 35 5/8" long with manual steering. It's 34 15/16" long with Bendix P/S.
Ford offered single, double and triple sheave accessory outer crankshaft pulleys to add P/S and/or A/C.
These bolt to the harmonic balancer that contains a single sheave pulley, so you may not need a double sheave pulley, could use a single sheave pulley instead.
You could also buy two single sheave pulleys in lieu of a double sheave pulley (that no one has NOS).

No Ford dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.
NOTE: Some of the above sources may or may not not ship parts "across the pond" to France.

Note: 1968/76 F100/350 360/390 harmonic balancer and outer accessory pulleys are different, have 4 holes, will not work on 1965/67 F100/350 352.
Where in France are you located? I was in Paris during Christmas 1999 when the hurricane hit. I heard a whooshing noise outside the hotel at 2AM, looked out the window, an entire roof blew by!
One of I.M. Pei's glass pyramids at the Louvre leaked, flooded the lower floor, Louvre didn't open till 11AM
We were there early, when we came back, the line was a mile long. The lady that told us to come back spotted us, put us at the front of the line.
Edit: Here's a pic (upper) from the 1949/59 car catalog, showing 6A312 outer pulley and 6312 harmonic balancer. The harmonic balancer used 1958/59 is different than 1960/67.

Well that depends on what they meant by "factory remanufactured" on the gearbox. Most that you buy in parts stores here in the States I'm told are only resealed and will therefore leak in a few years. Aside from that, I thought Bendix stopped making internal parts on these years ago except for maybe seal kits. And I do think the price was rather high. We can get a truly remanufactured gearbox from an outfit in Washington state for about $300 plus about $50 each way to ship it (OK--overseas shipping would be somewhat higher) The pumps can be bought here at any parts store for less than $100. One just needs the matching engine brackets for the pump which are quite easy to come by on ebay or out here, local salvage yards.

Ford/Saginaw P/S replaced the Bendix type in 1969 from serial number D96,001 and was then used into the 1990's.
