As far as I know (which is not much) they are all the same as far as the spring that pulls the handle back in after pulling it to release the park brake. The difference is how easy it is to get to, 73-mid 77 is hard to reach (see 1st pic) because if it in a tight spot by the kick panel and the parking brake bracket. And you will probably have to use some long handle needs nose.
77.5 to 79 is is easy to reach, see 2nd and 3rd pics.
It is 10 coils, 1/4" in diameter and about 1/2" long.
I am sure you can hit the local JY and get on off any 73-79 truck and or hit the local farm store and ck out there spring coil selection.

Rich: Please stop typing this 77.5 jazz at it ONLY applies to High Boys. It has nothing to do with the park brake control.
1973/75 F100/350's use a different park brake control than 1976/79 F100/350's and 1978/79 Bronco's.
Really cause my 0ct 77 F250 has a different park brake control pedal assembly than my 78. Let me go ck my 79.....
So it is a 77.5 (in my mind, lol) and that spring is difficult to reach, due to the design of the pedal assembly. And the 78 is on the easy to reach side and install on the pedal assembly.
77.5 77.5 77.5
You know I try to work more on here to HELP than complain, I know you do help the whole FTE world more than us in the 73-79 forum will ever know. I am good with the fact that we are oil and water. lol

October 1977 production would be a 1978. Since historically new vehicles are introduced in September of the previous year, production begins in August.
The 77.5 jazz (not FoMoCo terminology) only refers to 1977 F250 4WD (High Boys) assembled before serial number Y20,001 which occurred mid-model year (February 1977).
1977 F250 4WD's assembled from serial number Y20,001 are not High Boys.
Right: D6TZ-2780-A & D6TZ-2780-C .. Parking Brake Controls. The only difference is with the luxury décor option .. as the pedal pad has a bezel attached to it.
Yes you did, because 77.5 only refers to High Boys assembled before serial number Y20,001 which occurred mid-model year February 1977.
Mid-model year inre to High Boys is usually typed 77.5, but it could also be typed 1977 1/2. FoMoCo never used these terms, just before/from serial number Y20,001
