Hello I just ordered some new brackets because of the amount of rust under the ex. They sent me this one
This is not what I had. I have no shield. Does anyone know what the shield is for and will it interfere with a stock sway bar(just put one on)?
There should be a hole toward the outside edge of the plate. It is the bolt hole for the wire 'clip' that holds the parking brake cable. Outside of that, i'll agree that it's a Prii deflector. Mine has the plate and I have yet to get a Prius caught under the axle..... so it obviously works.
I haven't had a cable hooked to it forever, I guess that could have been part of the use? It is very heavy duty and far larger than needed for the cable. Right amount of strength for the Prius as the toxic batteries can damage a lesser plate
My X came with no rear sway bar, and I got large one from an F350 at Pick n Pull. When I went to install it, the plate was in the way, so I just trimmed it down so there was clearance.
I had assumed that Xs with sway bars from the factory just had a smaller plate, or no plate like the trucks.

I had to do the same thing. Took the grinder to it and chopped it right off.
