Does anyone in the chapter have a tie rod end (TRE) reamer? I bought a set of flat-top knuckles off of eBay for my 1978 F250 (to install crossover steering) only to learn this past weekend that the OEM TREs are too big. This makes me believe the knuckles I was sold are off of a 1/2 ton truck, not 3/4 ton. The new TREs slide right into the knuckles I removed, so I know I have the right TREs from Rock Auto.
If nobody has a reamer, can somebody verify the exact one I need? I will buy one (and will be happy to lend it out) but I want to make sure I get the right one. Hey come in different degrees of taper. Some have said that a 7-degree taper is correct, but hen I have also read 7.15-degree and 8-degree.
