2000 f250 7.3 Cold Start Problems
The "Wait to Start" light does come on and go off after about 15-20 seconds but I can't get my 7.3 to start in the morning without it being plugged in. It will just blow unburned fuel white smoke.
Soon as it does start it runs smooth.
I replaced the Glow Plug Relay yesterday and the plastic housing was cracked so I had hoped that was the problem but its not.
I just bought this truck and don't have a personal history to offer except its got 138K miles and is bone stock from the family of an older gemtleman that passed away.
Thanks for any assistance.
Can anyone confirm that if the issue is with a blown Fuse #22 or #30 (both 30amp) then the "Wait to Start" light does NOT come on?
Can I check resistance of the glow plugs without pulling the VC's? Would that be your next move?
I did purchase this Glow Plug Relay from NAPA and not Ford. The reason is that where I live in AK is very far from a Ford dealer but there are always NAPA stores nearby to warranty their parts. This relay did come with a 36-month warranty compared to Ford Parts counter offering 24-month.
Thanks
