Breakout box question

Is it possible top retrieve the readings a breakout box is used for, without the breakout box itself? I mean- can I use a line tap to derive the CCC and TPS voltages, so I can check them? I really don't wish to spend the money for a breakout box if I can check without it... I do have the emissions manual with all the data- just need to access the two circuits...

I don't see why not.

If I understand you correctly you are asking if you can tap into the wires to retrieve the data instead of using a breakout box. Tapping into the wires via a vampire connection or a sharp point on a test probe.

Thanks~! I was actually just on the phone with another mechanic friend of mine & he said it should be no problem back probing the connectors as long as I am careful & use a very thin probe... Sounds like I'll be doing that before I buy a box... Confirmation from 2 sources... Yay.
