No problem.
More benefits of EFI;
-smoother combustion and RPM's due to more evenly atomized fuel/air mix
-easier startups in cold and hot weather
-no physical adjustments necessary, ever
-no altitude adjustments necessary
-all efi 460' have straight up cam timing vs 8* retarded gearsets on 72-87 carbed motors
-ethanol and the crappy fuels of this day in age don't affect an efi system nearly as much as they affect carbs
As far as tuning for economy, forget about it. You may be able to get a couple mpg out of tuning, but only if you are lucky and have the time and ambition to try multiple tunes to check economy. I will be attempting to set my tunes so that I don't use so much excess fuel, rather than trying to reach the high mpg levels people strive for.
3:55 gears vs 4:10's are the biggest difference in mpg for 460 pickups. I legitimately claim to have achieved 14.9 on one set of tanks. It was all interstate on my way back from Colorado where I bought my pickup. That was a nonstop run on I80 with the cruise set at about 65. I have 3:55's and I had to empty out my tank pretty bad when I finally did stop!
