Hey all I am thinking of painting my truck eventually and don't want to change the blue color but perhaps a 2 tone blue and silver? Anyone here seen any or have one? wondering how it looks.
Looks like you have a great base to start with. I did my truck in a custom mix midnight blue metallic and silver alloy metallic and like how the colors look on the truck. I will be redoing the silver at some point, but here's a few pictures to give you an idea.
(I was replacing the rear window gasket when this picture was taken)
Does this look like the same color as yours? If so, I can try to get the color code, because that's my truck as it started out and still has the original driver side door. I just changed colors a bit, but the original color of my truck looks pretty similar to yours to me
Paint code for the blue on my blue & white 79 F150 pictured above is "S" Dark blue metallic.
I personally like the darker color on the bottom & lighter on top. But 51 Ford's silver on the bottom is nice too.
Thanks, I think it looks good both ways. I almost went with white too but changed my mind, just thought silver would be different. I probably would've done it blue on bottom if it weren't my first time doing real body work and paint work. Didn't want the blue showing off any small imperfections I missed... Maybe I'll flip the scheme when I redo it when I do a total frame off resto someday
