ProFlap or DuraFlap

Are these both made out of the same material? Is there any reason to buy on over the other, or would I just look for the best price between them?

Thanks

I bought the dura flaps and HATE THEM! They are a plastic not rubber material and have absolutely ZERO give, first week with them I went to cross a wash out during September goose season and the front flap caught the ground, if it wasn't for being on the drivers side and me looking out the window it would have bend my front fender! I backed up removed the bolts and threw them in the bed, I run the front ones only in the winter now to help stop slush and raid salt from getting all over my truck. In the spring summer I run a set of rubber universal Dually mud flaps from auto zone that actually bend and flex

I've had my Dura flaps on my dually for 11 years. They still look like the day i installed them.

Yes they are stiff. But that is why I bought them. To protect the truck & trailer. I have mine mounted about 7 1/2 off the ground. I have never had a problem. BUT I also don't really get TRULY off road with it either. (Other then the sand dunes)

I am going with them again on my new F350. I am going with the ones you drill yourself, so that I can mount them, the way I want them.

Dura Flaps is a "Mom & Pop" operation. When you call there you are talking to the owners. (I like that!)

I recently bought the Duraflaps but haven't received them yet. I'll post something when I do.

What I can say is that it is Mom & Pop. Send them an email and you may get a reply from both. They seem like really cool people. I got a 10% discount being a firefighter and I chose the firefighter logo in the stainless steel weight.

Pics and opinion when they arrive.

I've had Duraflaps on my truck for 4 years now on all 4 fenders. They still look brand new. I love them. Never had a problem with them in snow, rain, mud, sand or water crossings.

Thanks for the input. I have ordered a set for the rear on my 06 F350 SRW. I am now hauling a 5th wheel and did not want to spray it with mud and rock when off road. I went with the ones that will hang down about 14". I was going to do the ones that were about 16" below the fender but my trailer squats the truck and I would only have 4-5 inches clearance. Hopefully these will be fine. If I add air bags these may end up needing to be longer but we will see.

Thanks

Mine are brand new looking also I just didn't like the fact how they didn't flex and they made the fender bow and almost dent. I ordered the widest ones and I bought the self drill ones and mounted them fairly decent off the ground. I'll post up a pic a little later

The self drill ones are stiff? From the pictures they look like the heavy rubber ones we have on our bigger trucks at work. I'm looking at ordering a pair of the self drills like this one

Yes they are stiff, but still bendable to a point. They are NOT all rubber like on semi's. More plastic with MAYBE a little rubber through in.

I have backed into curbs and had them bend. But I also did not push it to see what would happen if I went further.

Tried to post better pictures of mine, but can't figure it on this forum.

I have had my Duraflaps on since purchasing the truck in in late 2007 and they still look great.

Another vote in for duraflaps. I love them. I do agree that they are a little more stiff than I would have liked, because there will be no give if they hit something.

Those are great looking flaps! (Of course I'm biased since that is my truck.)

They still look that way today. Yes, they are stiff, and have needed to lift them once when I had a big load of dirt in the bed and the drive way to my Son's house had a weird curb for an entry.

Those in the picture are longer than what they sell as standard. I drove to their business on a Saturday morning and Dennis cut them special and installed them for me.

The one thing about the mud flap weights on the Duraflap is they are in-set on the flap, not just bolted on. So, they are flush to the surface. This keeps snow and ice from getting in behind them and pushing the weights off.

I had weights on my semi's rubber flaps and the snow and ice popped the weights off.

I mounted the flaps and they look good. I am a little disappoint after seeing the custom chrome tips. I just got the plain chrome. I did not pay attention when I looked at their site or I would have ordered the ones with a Ford emblem on the chrome. I do like my chrome but I think it would have looked a little better!

That's funny I had no idea that was a members truck, the company sent that picture when I was looking at different styles.
