tranny removal question
I'm dropping my C6 tranny tonite to replace my rear seal. This is my first time doing this.
My question is:
Do I have to really drop the tranny fluid? Or can I leave it in. I have a tranny jack to to aid me.
Your quick response would be greatly appreciated.

Huh? Rear extension? It's a 2WD. It's just a big hunk of aluminum with fluid in it. I'm actually ready to unbolt it from the crossmember and the motor. Will I get fluid all over the place if I don'd drain it from the pan and torque converter?

Ohhh, I see now what your saying. I wasn't really looking to split it, just move it out as whole. Quick and dirty, and get her back in cause it's hot here in NE.

Oh, and which way do I turn my crank to gain access to the t.q. plug if I'm gonna drain it. The book warns me about turning it the wrong way but doesn't tell which way is right or wrong.
