351 or 400?

351 or 400?
i have a 77 f250 4x4. the door code says its a 351 but the seller said it was a 400. i know they have 400m's. is there a way to tell the difference. also i think my water pump was going out and when i took a closer look, the pulley on the crank for the water pump broke off. it was just sitting there. so i dont think the water pump was even turning. i was wondering if i could center it back on there and tack weld it into place. also my first part of my vin says f26. its supposed to be the truck series code. so like i said i have a f250. what could the f26 mean. if it was a f250 i thought it would say f25. so i was wondering what the f26 could be.
