The injectors won't get a signal to turn on until 500psi is reached. If you have air then there isn't oil to pressurize.

Just crank it a few times for 30 or 45 seconds.

I had that video up on my tablet and was using it under the hood as a reference as I was doing my oil cooler last week. I will continue to do the same as I finish putting it back together later this week.

Between DieselTechRon and SrMasterTech you can pretty much do anything on the 6.0.

Ok guys, I tried to crank it 4-5 times at 30-45 seconds. batteries are fresh holding 13.35 volts. Nothing. It cranks wonderfully, just no start. Here is a picture of my Scan gauge. Everything looks fine. Please tell me what I should be looking for? I have no codes that come up on my OBDII code reader.....stumped.

p.s. when i connected the ficm, 2 of the 3 harness connectors snapped in nicely. The farthest one from me in the back did not snap in. But it holds in when i try to pull it out. It feels secure. I took it all off and looked at the connector. Nothing broke on it. Looks like the other 2. But it doesn't have that nice click/snap when you connect it. could this be my problem?

during cranking

Well your ICP is over 500 so that isn't the problem. You should have a click on all three connectors on FICM. Hope someone that knows what to check will log on so I will bump it back to the top for you.

I think the rear most connector is X1 and connects to cylinders 1,4,6 and 7 injectors. If that were the only problem it should set injector low codes and maybe even fire but not start when cranking. I'd suspect a Sync issue. FICM or cam/crankshaft.

Camshaft & Crankshaft Sync (1 = in sync, 0 = not in sync)

TXD: 07E02209CD

RXF: 0462050906CD

RXD: 3000 (3001 alternate)

MTH: 000100010000

NAM: SYC

KO=0 LI=1 HI=1 OR 0-1 (NO/YES)

FSN 07E02209CD 0462050906CD 3601 000100010000 FICM-sync 0=NO, 1=Yes

SYC 07E02209CD 0462050906CD 3000 000100010000 SYC CAM/CRANK POSITION SENSOR SYNC (1= IN SYNC)

I will do the camshaft/crankshaft sync for sure as soon as i get everything bolted back in. I took the ficm out again and the rear harness connectors (X1) does not snap in cause the little black snaps are broken. It fits in all the way and it appears to not come loose.

Can i replace this connector without replacing the entire harness,.... UGH!! anybody with info to help me out here would be great. Here is a pic of my rear harness broken..........what can i do? Please don't say i need a whole new harness....................

The top one is the rear harness. Notice the little snaps missing compared to the others. They were broken off completely when i got to them, but after just touching them a little they both snapped off.

This is the harness i would like to replace.

This harness (middle one) also has one of the clips that has been kinda sheared off at the end. Not good but it does snap in.

same with this one. One little clip is good while the other has been sheared. Still, it snaps into place nicely.

These came off the 2nd pic harness as you probably figured out. Just snapped right off.

A lot of guys have had luck just zip-tying the connector to the FICM, I believe you can get the connector but im not sure how difficult it is to install. You might look at the pins where the harness plugs in to the FICM just to be sure there are no bent pins.

From the Tech folder (lots of good stuff in there).

FICM connector https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post11252042

Some notes on FICM connector parts.

Amazon.com: Fuel Injection Control Module (FICM) Connector Pigtail Alliant Power #AP0032: Automotive

http://diesels-parts-tools.com/produ...odule-ford-6-0

Thanks for that second link - I had not seen that site before!

Edit - digging a little deeper, it looks like AP0032 (X-2) and AP0033 (X-1) are the FICM connectors to the injectors. Looks like AP0031 (X-3) is the FICM connector to/from the PCM. AP0018 (X-3), AP0019 (X-2), AP0020 (X-1) are the older (and cheaper) Alliant Power numbers for the connectors. Not sure why the new numbers are more expensive!

http://www.thedieselstore.com/templa...1#.U8ugLONdVJl

These new AP connector numbers are new to me, so hopefully the site linked above has it correct. I am sure about the old numbers X2 (AP0019) is the middle plug, X1 (AP0020) is an end plug, X3 (AP0018) is the wider end plug nearer to the degas bottle).

Edit again .............
The difference in the AP numbers are that one set does not have the wire pigtails. The other does:
http://usdieselparts.com/i-13466511-...h-pigtail.html

A couple of quick fixes are to put a piece of rubber under the FICM before you bolt it down to keep the plugs in place or as Brett mentioned, zip tie them in place before bolting the FICM down.

Edit: sorry I see most of those links are dead. I had copied these a while back and apparently the url's have changed. The last link is still good and the part numbers in the text also.
